About K&H Excavating
K&H Excavating is an owner-run excavating company based in Rosedale, Indiana. We build ponds, dredge ponds and lakes, clear land, and take on demolition for landowners, farmers, ranchers, and commercial property owners across west central Indiana.
Our story
Where We Come From
K&H Excavating comes from a farming family. For a long time, owner Kory Stone ran excavating work alongside the farm, raising cattle and selling hay while keeping the machines busy between seasons. In January 2024, Kory set K&H Excavating up as its own business. Today, excavating is the full-time work.
That farm background shapes how we look at a job. We know what it means to depend on your land. A pond that holds water, a field that's been opened up, or a building that's finally gone can change how you use a whole property. We treat your ground the way we'd want ours treated.
Why Ponds and Dredging
Over time, the work that stood out was pond work. That means building new ponds, cleaning out old ones, and dredging the silt that slowly fills ponds and lakes in. That's where our equipment and experience fit best. It's also where a landowner ends up with something that lasts.
We still take on land clearing, site preparation, excavation, and demolition. We just focus on the bigger, heavier work where excavators and dozers make sense. If your project needs real iron and an operator who knows how to use it, that's us.
How we work
How We Work
When you call K&H Excavating, you talk to the owner. Kory looks at the property, listens to what you're trying to do, and gives you a free estimate. You won't be passed around between salespeople and crews you've never met.
We're a small operation. Kory runs the jobs, and a couple of trusted guys come on when a project calls for more help. Kory's son is also coming into the business and learning to run equipment. As the company grows, the goal is to build steady crews that do the work the same way it's done now.
We're also upfront about what we don't do. We don't build driveways, and we don't trench for utility lines or septic systems. Being clear about that means the work we do take on gets our full attention.
Who We Work With
Most of our customers are private landowners with 10 or more acres, along with farmers and ranchers who need a new pond, a cleaned-out pond, or ground that's been cleared. We also work with commercial property owners, especially on larger demolition projects. We have the trucks to haul debris off-site.
